The battery upgrade is complete, and to my surprise the Yuasa YTZ7S fits in the YTX5L-BS hole. What that mean is I just went from 80 CCA to 130 CCA. I can now let my fan run on hot days, and not worry about the battery going dead. The YTZ7S is a sealed unit that won’t leak, and you don’t have to add the acid. I also hooked up the 1.5 amp battery tender that Yuasa makes to help keep the battery charged, and increase the battery life. The battery tender is one of the better units I have seen with the 3 LED lights that tell you what stage of the charging process it is in. It also comes with a quick connect. Today is a cold day so I can’t go for a ride, but I did try to start the bike. After about 5 minutes of cranking the battery was still going strong. I flipped the kill switch to ON and shook my head, and the bike fired right up.
