PW-50 Stiff Throttle

Here's a tip on how to fix a stiff throttle on a PW-50. My was complaining that his throttle was hard to twist on his bike so I took it apart and found dirt and gunk. Here is a step by step guide on how to fix a stiff throttle.

Step 1
Remove both Philips head bolts that holds both halves of the throttle assembly together.

Step 2
Remove throttle cable from throttle housing.

Step 3
Remove throttle housing from bar end.

Step 4
Use fine sandpaper to clean and polish handle bar end until smooth and shining.

Step 5
Use brake clean to clean handle bar end and the inside of throttle housing tube. Tip- use screw driver with a rag over it to clean inside the tube.

Step 6
Spray silicone on bar end before placing throttle tube back on.

Step 7
Reatatch throttle cable ensuring cable is in grove.

Step 8
Connect both halves of throttle assembly together and tighten both screws 90%.

Step 9
Push throttle housing against bar end then back off 1/8" to ensure housing tube is not rubbing against bar end.

Step 10
Tighten screws and gear up the kids.
