If you're looking for the best knobby dirt bike tire IMO "In My Opinion" the look is over. In the past I have tried S-12 and Pirelli XCMS along with a few other tires and don't get me wrong they are all great tires, but for me the Michelin Star Cross 5 is my tire choice. When it comes to cost for what you get at $76.95 for a rear found HERE the Michelin Star Cross 5 Mid/Soft is the best tire currently on the market. I'm going to keep this review short and to the point if you have any questions please feel free to comment below.
Pros/Cons
- Best hooking up tire I have tried on wet rocks and roots.
- One of the easier mounting tires.
- Sidewall is stiff enough to not fold when on hard pack or pavement like an S-12.
- Soft enough that when on pavement it won't lock up every time you put on the brakes like the Pirelli XCMS.
- Wear life is better then an S-12 and about the same or a little worse then Pirelli XCMS.
If you're in the market for a knobby dirt bike tire once again IMO I feel the Michelin Star Cross 5 Mid is work a try. If your not a fan or if you enjoy the tire let us hear about it by commenting below I always want to hear your opinion.
