The stock stator on your KTM does a good job running a headlight, tail light, and charging your battery. If your going to add a cooling fan to your KTM then you might want to think about upgrading your stator. One issues I ran into after adding a cooling fan to my 450 was the batteries would go dead, and would only last about 3-6 months. Most KTM cooling fan run off a thermal switch which works well, but the down fall is they stay on after you shut off the motor draining your batter. A more powerful stator helps bring that battery back to a full charge instead of the constant up and down which is the hardest on batteries. There are many good stators for sale the one I used and had good luck with was the Trail Tech 100 Watt. The cost is around $175 but that is still cheaper then buying batteries every 3 months.
